House Republicans say they’re pleased with Richardson’s choice.
“I am looking forward to serving with Zachary Cook during the upcoming legislative session and beyond,” House Minority Leader Tom Taylor said in a news release. “I have no doubt that Zachary has big shoes to fill that have been left by Dub Williams, but I have no doubt that he will continue the tradition of excellent service to the community started by Rep. Williams.”
Minority Whip Keith Gardner said Cook “will be a great addition to the New Mexico House of Representatives.”
“I look forward to working with him and helping make the transition to a state representative as smooth as possible,” Gardner said. “I know Mr. Cook will serve the people of Lincoln and Otero Counties with as much grace and honor as Dub Williams did.”
