Say What?

Headline on Gloria Borger column:

Borger: Could getting nomination cost McCain the election?

In a word no. Now not getting the nomination would be a serious problem. The story is about the Powell endorsement, but I don't think it was very important. Does anyone seriously think that Powell endorsement of McCain would change any Obama votes? I don't. Conversely why should it matter if he endorsed Obama?

McCain will win or lose based on the public perceptions of Obama. Powell is not going to change that. There are still plenty of reasons to vote against Obama. He is wrong on energy, taxes and national security. He was dead wrong about Iraq.
