Cognitive dissonance



This article looks at the cognitive dissonance that many people display on questions of welfare reform. People seem to want benefits for themselves if they were to lose their jobs, but still look down on others who are claiming them. They somehow feel they are 'better' than others - with no evidence to back this up.
