The Glenrothes by-election has seen a Labour hold . In fact, Labour increased its share of the vote from 51.9% to 55.1%.
The SNP also gained votes - and rose to 36.5% of the votes cast. The Tories and Lib-Dems slid back to 3.8% and 2.6% respectively.
The by-election results do show that Labour's fortunes seem to be recovering north of the border. It also could mark the end of the SNP administration's 18-month honeymoon at Hollyrood.
