Republican coup threatens Calif. budget talks
Think about it. If there was really a coup there would be no need for talks since the Republicans would be in charge of California government. What actually happened was a democratic vote of Republican senators to select a new leader that better represented their point of view. While that point of view is probably not the same as the writer of this headline, the vote can hardly be called a coup.
What seems to be hard for Democrats to comprehend is that Republican positions are not about being "mean." They are about arriving at a solution that is in the long term best interest of the state. They beleive increasing already high taxes will lead to a further flight of jobs and businesses. Demographics over the past 10 years of doing it the Democrat way suggest they are right.
